Minnesota welcomes Refugees from around the world that have fled their home country due to fear of persecution. Our MRCI Refugee Services works with Refugees to help them achieve long-term stability, become self-sufficient and contributing members of the communities in which they live.  We work with families to facilitate economic independence and social adjustment to allow for successful integration into the community.

 

MRCI receives federal funding administered through the State of Minnesota Refugee Programs Office, Department of Human Services, to provide Employment and Social Services to Refugees in Blue Earth, Nicollet, Waseca and Steele counties. Programs assist Refugees with the following core services:

 

-  Access to Safe & Affordable Housing

 

-  Housing Orientation

 

-  Landlord and Tenant Mediation

 

-  Access to Child Care

 

-  Enrollment in English Language Classes

 

-  Enrollment in Public Schools for Children

 

-  Immigration Adjustment Referrals

 

-  Access to Reliable Transportation

 

-  Cultural Orientation

 

-Job Placement Assistance

 

- Application and Interview Preparation Assistance

 

-Bi-lingual Training Consultant to Assist in Job Orientation
